Lodz, Poland – May 30, 2025 — Professor Issouf Fofana of the Department of Applied Sciences at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) has been awarded the Hans Tropper Memorial Award, one of the highest honors in the field of liquid dielectrics.
This international recognition was presented to Professor Fofana during the International Conference on Liquid Dielectrics (ICDL), organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The event took place from May 18 to 22, 2025, in Lodz, Poland.
The Hans Tropper Memorial Award is conferred by the Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) of the IEEE. Named in honor of the late Professor Emeritus Hans Tropper, the award celebrates exceptional contributions to the field of liquid dielectrics. It is awarded at each edition of the ICDL to an internationally recognized expert and is accompanied by a keynote lecture delivered by the recipient.
